The inductive proximity switch is used to switch on  a minimum quantity lubrication of the type MDE-PA as required. With this switch, the system is operated via a moving machine part such as the quill in a drill press. The switch is attached to the machine with a magnetic base and precisely adjusted with a flexible tube.
This saves a lot of coolant because the system only runs when lubricant is actually needed for drilling or tapping.
